About this workshop
Building positive relationships and young people of character and citizenship are valuable goals.
1. A group could be formed of preschoolers, colleagues, a family. What are the characteristics of an effective group? What are the ways to develop a “group” effectively?
2. Young people are more likely to grow up successfully when they experience developmental relationships with important people in their lives. How do we build effective developmental relationships?
3. What are the developmental assets we can influence that all youth need?
4. What can we do to build self confidence in young people? We will examine the three-legged stool of self-confidence, understand the difference between praise and encouragement, the difference between a fixed and growth mindset, and look at practical ways to develop a positive view of self.
